The word tiramisu literally means “cheer me up.” This delicious coffee-flavored Italian custard dessert has its origins in the town of Treviso in Northern Italy in the region known as the Veneto. It is ladyfingers dipped in coffee layered with mascarpone cheese, custard, and cocoa; the perfect end to a meal.
- Lady fingers
- Vanilla extract
- Cocoa powder mix
- Mascarpone filling
- Spoon or spatula
- Small bowl or baking pan
PREP TIME: 15 MINUTES
STEP 1: Follow directions on instant coffee packet provided to make 1 cup coffee, or brew a cup of your favorite. Let cool in fridge for 5 minutes. Pour coffee into small bowl or baking pan.
STEP 2: Whisk vanilla extract into the coffee. Dip lady fingers one at a time into coffee mixture (each lady finger will remain in coffee mixture for 2-3 seconds).
STEP 3: Place into the bottom of the pan we have provided in kit.
STEP 4: Use spoon or spatula to top lady fingers with half of the mascarpone filling.
STEP 5: Sprinkle half of the cocoa powder on top of filling. Repeat to build the second layer.
STEP 6: Refrigerate for at least 2 hours. Take a picture of your final dish for posting, slice, and enjoy!
