Fig & Pear Salad

Figs and Pears are often paired together with greens in Italy. The gorgonzola cheese or Italian blue cheese is the perfect compliment to the sweet fruit.

INGREDIENTS

  • Bright lights swiss chard
  • Gorgonzola
  • Pears
  • Dried figs
  • Walnuts
  • Honey
  • Balsamic vinaigrette

KITCHEN TOOLS

  • Chef's knife or serrated knife
  • Cutting board

PREP INSTRUCTIONS

STEP 1: Remove stem from swiss chard and slice into 1-inch ribbons.

STEP 2: Cut pears into quarters. Remove seeds. Thinly slice.

STEP 3: Remove stem from figs. Thinly slice.

STEP 4: Place swiss chard into a serving bowl. Garnish with pears, walnuts, figs, and gorgonzola.

STEP 5: Dress salad with balsamic, vinaigrette. (Shake, stir or whisk before pouring dressing.)

STEP 6: Drizzle salad with honey. Enjoy your salad.
